Hello October!

Kuva
October is here! Are there really only 3 months left of this year? Better start really enjoying the final months. This month means for me work and spending a couple weekends with my mum while we attend 2 fairs. Last month we went to Helsinki and next week Oulu and later this month Turku. Those weekends are tough but it's nice to help mum and spend time with her. Due to being busy on so many weekends, it was great to spend a weekend at home just with my dog last week and I have that same plan for this weekend too. I really missed just being at home so last weekend I enjoyed every second of it. Last weekend I baked American Cheesecake for the first time and it was really good! I'm not the best baker so I was happy to at least succeed with that. Otherwise I just watched ice-hockey and a couple of movies and on Sunday I had a cleaning day after a long time. This weekend sounds about the same but I was thinking of playing some PS3 games too since I haven't played anything in a...

2 weeks left!

Kuva
From today I have exactly 2 weeks left of my time in Thailand. These past weeks I have been packing my (never ending) supply of various stuff while trying to stay awake and be active at work. Somehow my sleep hasn't been good so especially the time before lunch, has been really hard at work. So when I get home I'm very eager to just go straight to bed and that's why I have tried to utilize every moment when I'm not tired for packing. I have already packed most of my clothes, books, accessories, dishes etc but there are still some things left. And my luggage situation is...well quite nerve wrecking. I have 3 big luggage and luckily none of them are over the weight limit but they're getting closer and closer while the room in them is getting smaller. I have probably been panicking too much about the luggage situation because last Friday I got a migraine at the office in the morning. Fortunately my medication decreases the pain a lot so I could manage the day at work ...

Baking abroad

A while back I saw a cake recipe video in Facebook and because it didn't require an oven or ingredients that are very hard or impossible to get here, I decided to try it. It was a chocolate cheesecake so I just needed cream cheese, cookies, butter, sugar, chocolate and whipped cream. It also required vanilla which I couldn't get but luckily I got vanilla sugar from Finland so problem solved. I couldn't do the whipped cream myself so I bought already made whipped cream from the store. I had most of the ingredients for many weeks but because last month I wasn't at home during any weekend, I couldn't do it until last weekend. But it was worth the wait! Although I was a bit worried how it will turn out (because I don't usually have good luck with my cooking) , everything went surprisingly well and the cake tastes very good. Fortunately my first time baking a cake abroad was a success. I have seen a few other interesting recipes in those Tasty videos and I will defi...

Keeping myself busy

Kuva
We're already over halfway through February which means my time here in Thailand keeps decreasing and coming to an end (way too fast). That's why I have tried to enjoy every moment I have here besides spending time in the office due to my internship. In the beginning of this month I travelled to Kuala Lumpur, mainly because of my 90 -day period was coming to an end so I needed to travel outside of Thailand. I spent there a few days and happily came back. Last weekend I spent in Bangkok because I wanted to meet 2 of my friends and take care of a few things. My Saturday evening was amazing thanks to my dear friend Koh who I met after a long time. We went to eat and walk around JJ Green night market near Mo Chit station. We ate in a Korean BBQ restaurant where we ended up spending a lot of time just talking about all kinds of stuff and enjoying the food. After that we still had time to look around for a bit before Koh had to leave. I really enjoyed my time with him and hope...

Sick weekend

Kuva
Hi all!  Oh how nice to be sick during summer... Luckily we're having not-so-nice weather here in Finland at the moment so it doesn't matter if you're sick. Unfortunately I had to miss my friend's birthday party because I had fever and felt ill on Saturday :( Now I'm starting feel better fortunately because I wouldn't want to be sick next weekend when I'm going to a cottage with my friends.  But also something very awesome happened last weekend and I mean San Diego Comic Con event where they announced the premiere date of Fear The Walking Dead and also the premiere date of The Walking Dead's 6th season. They also published trailers for both of them! I have watched the FTWD trailer sooo many times already and I CAN'T WAIT for it to begin on the 23rd of August! The Walking Dead season 6 trailer was also very intense and I can't believe how the trailers and seasons keep getting better and better and more insane after every season. The people who...

Singstar Saturday

Kuva
I spent an awesome Saturday evening with two of my friends and it really made me happy when I realised how good friends I have gotten from my "new" school :) We spent the evening playing Singstar which was my first time and I actually did well and enjoyed it a lot! I really like singing BUT only when I'm alone :D This time though I didn't think and care about my voice etc. I decided to just have fun and that's what I did and it really worked. After that we watched the two first episodes of The Walking Dead's season 1 while eating mint-chocolate muffins made by me, candies, chips and other delicious snacks. I also made us kiwi-lime milkshakes and it was my first time using that recipe and it was so good that I will definitely do it again. While playing and having fun, we were also very anxious to find out how does the game between Tappara and Lukko end. Fortunately my team, Tappara, won 4-3 so the team who goes to the finals will be revealed tomorr...

Movie night

Hello everyone! :)  Yesterday was this hockey season's first Lukko-Tappara game so of course we had to go there. This time our Korean exchange student came with me and Johanna to the game. This was her first time and surprisingly she fell in love with ice hockey :D  I felt very glad that she liked it and is interested to go again because ice hockey is a big part of Finnish culture.  The game didn't end well for me and other Tappara fans because Lukko won 2-1 but still it  was very good and exciting game :)  Next Lukko-Tappara game is in the end of January so we need to wait quite a long time. It will be exciting to see how are those teams playing then because now in the beginning it's very different.  My fun weekend will continue tonight when Johanna comes here and we'll eat tortillas and dessert, play Just Dance -games and watch The Hunger Games -movies  (it's a MUST because Johanna hasn't seen them!) .  It's definitely going to ...
