I wake up to your sunset

I have now been here for about 3 weeks and the first 12 days I was with my mum as we took care of things related to my apartment and school. We also went to buy some things for her company. She left back to Finland on last week's Tuesday so I have been here alone for a bit over a week now and it hasn't been so hard as I thought it would be. That's mainly because I have already made a few friends so I haven't been really alone and every day I have went somewhere with someone. Although a couple of days I have just stayed at home because I like to have some alone time too sometimes and we still have a lot of time to hang out together and go to many places.  My first manicure here! I just LOVE to go and get a manicure here because it's so cheap and the people are very talented :) Last week I bought shirts and accessories for my school uniform. On Thursday and Friday I had my orientation days at BUIC. On Thursday we got all kinds of information, the faculty and the school's president were introduced as were the student committee and school clubs, a group foto was taken and got to know what courses I got from last week's registration. The day was quite boring from time to time because there were moments when nobody knew where my group aka all the entrepreneurship students need to go and do and we had to wait quite a long time many points. The campus tour that was given to our group was also quite useless because you couldn't always hear what the tutor student said about the place and there were so much information that you just couldn't remember everything in the end of it. But overall it was a nice day especially I got to see all the other exchange students and who are studying what major and I also made a couple of new Finnish friends :) I was also surprised and happy to see how many Asian students there were...

Now it's really official:  I'm going to study in Bangkok University as an exchange student next fall!  I have been waiting for this news a long time and the confirmation finally came today.  Now I can really start to prepare for it, do some shopping, get plane tickets and a visa and take care of many other stuff.  I'm sooo excited! ♥ xoxo, Elina

Vaihto-opiskelu on ollut aihe, josta olen halunnut kirjoittaa jo kauan aikaa, mutta en ole viittinyt koska sen toteutuminen ei ole ollut täysin varmaa. Sitä se ei ole vieläkään, mutta päätin nyt kirjoittaa silti, koska nyt on taas tähän aiheeseen liittyen tapahtunut kaikenlaista.  Hain siis viime syksynä vaihto-opiskelemaan Thaimaahan (Bangkokiin)  ja Etelä-Koreaan (Souliin) ja tämä haku oli Samkin hyväksymistä varten. En siis vielä hakenut suoraa mihinkään vaihtokouluun vaan ensin piti saada Samkin hyväksyntä vaihto-opiskeluun menemisestä ja he myös valitsivat vaihto-kouluni. Itselläni kävi hyvin; Samk hyväksyi vaihto-opiskeluun menemiseni ja 1. vaihtokohteeni eli Bangkokin yliopiston. Tämä tieto tuli joulukuussa ja siitä alkoi pitkä odotus tai no siltä se ainakin tuntui kunnes sain lisää tietoa vaihtoprosessista. Maaliskuun alussa sain hakuohjeet vaihtokouluani varten ja tähän hakuun kuului monenlaisten liitteiden hankkimista ja lähettämistä kv-koordinaattorille ja sähkö...
