2 weeks left!

Kuva
From today I have exactly 2 weeks left of my time in Thailand. These past weeks I have been packing my (never ending) supply of various stuff while trying to stay awake and be active at work. Somehow my sleep hasn't been good so especially the time before lunch, has been really hard at work. So when I get home I'm very eager to just go straight to bed and that's why I have tried to utilize every moment when I'm not tired for packing. I have already packed most of my clothes, books, accessories, dishes etc but there are still some things left. And my luggage situation is...well quite nerve wrecking. I have 3 big luggage and luckily none of them are over the weight limit but they're getting closer and closer while the room in them is getting smaller. I have probably been panicking too much about the luggage situation because last Friday I got a migraine at the office in the morning. Fortunately my medication decreases the pain a lot so I could manage the day at work ...

Songkran Festival

I'm happy to say that this year's Songkran festival is over! I managed to stay mostly dry and even have fun thanks to my friend. Surprisingly the only day when I got wet and I mean soaking wet was my last working day before the holiday. We celebrated Songkran also at the office and after staying dry almost the whole lunch/celebrations time, I got 3 buckets of water thrown at me. That killed my mood for the rest of the day but I didn't let it ruin my whole holiday.  First I spend 5 days in Bangkok and then traveled to Chiang Mai for a couple of days after which I still spent a day in Bangkok. During the first weekend in Bangkok I went to see a Thai movie with a friend and eat dinner together. It was a horror movie called 11-12-13. I really liked it because the plot was kind of different to what I'm used to see. It had 3 different stories which were all somehow connected and what made the movie really interesting was that everything happened during Songkran.  Afte...

It's all going to work out, right?

For the past 3 weeks I have been busy organising my move, spending last days with my exchange friends and also last weeks in Bangkok. Earlier this month I said final goodbyes to my dear friend Madoka who went back to her home country Japan. We spent her last day here together just the two of us and I felt so sad the whole day. Of course we had our funny moments but still I got more and more sad as the day went by. I gave her a Moomin mug and some Moomin candy that my mum brought from Finland as a farewell present. She loves Moomins so I was happy to give those to her and also because they were something to remind her of Finland and me :) I also got a handwritten card from her and the text was something that I will never forget. I got tears in my eyes while reading it because I felt so thankful to have met such a kind and honest person. I was so glad that at least someone really appreciated the time I spent with her and I had made someone happy. She is really a person who ...

Nice to meet you again!

On Saturday I met up with my two friends and also with a thai guy who I met two weeks ago. We went to another night market called Train market. First we took a skytrain from Ekkamai to Phra Kanong and from there we took a bus to the market. It was the first time for me and my friends using a bus so it was very interesting. It was very good to have a local person to help us use the bus system :D The journey took quite a long time but costed only 9 baht per person. The market area was pretty big, full of shops, bars and restaurants. At first we wanted to eat something and there were a lot of street food stalls that had delicious looking food but we preferred to sit in a proper restaurant. Finally we found one where we ordered 2 different kinds of soups and noodles. The food was new for me and actually also for the local guy. He said he doesn't like spicy food and noodles that much which was very surprising :D But we all ate it and were satisfied. After that we went around the market ...

First weeks in the land of smiles :)

I have now been here for about 3 weeks and the first 12 days I was with my mum as we took care of things related to my apartment and school. We also went to buy some things for her company. She left back to Finland on last week's Tuesday so I have been here alone for a bit over a week now and it hasn't been so hard as I thought it would be. That's mainly because I have already made a few friends so I haven't been really alone and every day I have went somewhere with someone. Although a couple of days I have just stayed at home because I like to have some alone time too sometimes and we still have a lot of time to hang out together and go to many places.  My first manicure here! I just LOVE to go and get a manicure here because it's so cheap and the people are very talented :) Last week I bought shirts and accessories for my school uniform. It's nice to have 2 different kinds of shirts because the more formal one is quite hot due to the fabric. I also boug...
