I wake up to your sunset

I have now been here for about 3 weeks and the first 12 days I was with my mum as we took care of things related to my apartment and school. We also went to buy some things for her company. She left back to Finland on last week's Tuesday so I have been here alone for a bit over a week now and it hasn't been so hard as I thought it would be. That's mainly because I have already made a few friends so I haven't been really alone and every day I have went somewhere with someone. Although a couple of days I have just stayed at home because I like to have some alone time too sometimes and we still have a lot of time to hang out together and go to many places.  My first manicure here! I just LOVE to go and get a manicure here because it's so cheap and the people are very talented :) Last week I bought shirts and accessories for my school uniform. It's nice to have 2 different kinds of shirts because the more formal one is quite hot due to the fabric. I also boug...

On Thursday and Friday I had my orientation days at BUIC. On Thursday we got all kinds of information, the faculty and the school's president were introduced as were the student committee and school clubs, a group foto was taken and got to know what courses I got from last week's registration. The day was quite boring from time to time because there were moments when nobody knew where my group aka all the entrepreneurship students need to go and do and we had to wait quite a long time many points. The campus tour that was given to our group was also quite useless because you couldn't always hear what the tutor student said about the place and there were so much information that you just couldn't remember everything in the end of it. But overall it was a nice day especially I got to see all the other exchange students and who are studying what major and I also made a couple of new Finnish friends :) I was also surprised and happy to see how many Asian students there were...

Oon tässä viimeisen viikon aikana pakannut tavaroita (astioita, vaatteita, kirjoja ja ties mitä muuta) laatikoihin. Kaikkea ei ole vielä voinut täysin pakata pois, mutta on tämä silti ruvennut etenemään ihan kivasti. Äiti ja toinen tädeistäni tulivat tänään hakemaan ensimmäisen muuttokuorman. Heidän mukanaan lähti jo 3 laatikollista astioita, kirjat, talvivaatteet- ja kengät, kenkäkaappi, työtuoli, joulukoristeet ja kaikenlaista sekalaista tavaraa. Mukanaan he toivat lisää laatikoita ja nyt kämppäni onkin täynnä vain laatikoita vaikka niitä lähtikin tänään jo paljon pois. Viikonloppuna viedään äidin kanssa seuraava kuorma Tampereelle kun joudun menemään sinne uusimaan reseptejä, hankkimaan yhden rokotuksen ja terveystarkastuksen joudun nyt loppujen lopuksi sittenkin suorittamaan vaihtoa varten. Sain tänään nimittäin myös äidin mukana Tampereelle tulleet paperit vaihtokoulustani, jotka sisälsivät thai -kielisiä papereita viisumia varten ja monenlaista tietoa sisältäviä papereita ja myös...

Now it's really official:  I'm going to study in Bangkok University as an exchange student next fall!  I have been waiting for this news a long time and the confirmation finally came today.  Now I can really start to prepare for it, do some shopping, get plane tickets and a visa and take care of many other stuff.  I'm sooo excited! ♥ xoxo, Elina
